SPORT
At Thornton Primary School, we offer the following summer and winter sporting codes. It is encouraged that all pupils participate in one summer and one winter sport.
Soccer
We have mini soccer for Grades R - 3 and soccer for Grade 4 - 7. Soccer is open to boys and girls.
Netball
We have mini netball for Grades 2 - 3 and netball for Grade 4 - 7.
Cricket
We have mini cricket for Grades R - 3 and cricket for Grade 4 - 7. Cricket is open to boys and girls.
Athletics
We have athletics open to all grades.
Rugby
We will be starting an under 13 rugby team this year.

Netball
In 2019 Khanyo Somana, Grade 6, was selected for the Cape Netball U12 Team in the Central School District. She went on to play for the Disas who won Gold in the 2019 Western Cape All Schools District Tournament.
